The actor’s | first potential mate was allegedly forced to tell a church official her deepest secrets and scrub toilet bowls with a toothbrush when punished

This sounds like the audition from hell.

According to an upcoming story in Vanity Fair, The Church of Scientology held secret auditions to find a wife for church member Tom Cruise following his divorce from Nicole Kidman.

The auditions were so secret that the candidates didn’t know they were taking place. These allegations are being presented in a story written by Maureen Orth and drawing upon "several sources," including former Scientologists and Marc Headley, who left the church in 2005 with police help. Headley reportedly saw "a number of the audition tapes."

In 2004, the church allegedly brought in actresses who were also Scientologists, telling the women they were auditioning for a role in a church training film. During the process, the actresses would be asked “What do you think of Tom Cruise?”

Michael Jackson was a "basket case" in a "weakened and troubled state" in his final days while preparing for his comeback tour, according to email correspondence published by the Los Angeles Times.

A total of 250 pages of email messages -- which, The Times reports, suggest that Anschutz Entertainment Group was aware of Jackson's mental state in the days leading up to his death on June 25, 2009 -- were leaked as two lawsuits ready for trial next year: The shows' insurers, Lloyd's of London, have claimed that AEG gave false claims about the singer's health when seeking a $17.5 million policy, while Jackson's heirs have filed a wrongful-death suit claiming that AEG pressured him into the 50-show tour in London despite knowing he was too weak to perform.

Even before AEG executives met with Jackson in September 2008, they had their doubts about the superstar and were seeking insurance to cover any potential losses if the shows fell through, according to the emails.

MTV | Jersey Shore Going Out on Top | Canceled Due to | Evolving Lives

Jersey Shore is going out on a high note, according to MTV, which is speaking out about its rationale behind canceling the hit show after six seasons.

Long story short, that's no longer really the case.

"We noticed what was going on in their lives, with [Snooki having her baby], the relationships, etc. it felt like the right time to bring it to a close."

"The show still dominates, it’s the No. 1 show in our core demo, and it’s still incredibly successful. It’s really just about their lives evolving and changing in a way that moves everyone away from the original conceit of the show."

"We made what we think is the right, tough choice to end the show on top."
