Nearly 30 years after his iconic lip-synching scene in the 1983 comedy, Tom Cruise is back behind the mike in the upcoming film "Rock of Ages " and omg! has gotten an exclusive sneak peek at the 49-year-old in character on the cover of W magazine's June issue.

In the pic, Cruise — who plays the sleazy, womanizing rocker Stacee Jaxx in the film adaptation of the kitschy '80s-themed Broadway musical — shows off his chiseled chest temporarily covered in over-the-top tattoos. The actor also dons nail polish, chunky silver jewelry, bedazzled jeans, and even eye makeup as two scantily clad "groupies" can't keep their well-manicured hands off him. And no, neither gal looks anything like Katie Holmes.

"I knew we had to push the sexuality because of the nature of the character and the songs," Cruise tells W of his character. "He's singing, 'I want to know what love is.'"
The movie, which premieres next month, has a super star-studded ensemble cast including Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, Bryan Cranston, and, of course, Tom's pecs.
